It is commonly used to treat dehydration and in the treatment of kidney disease to help maintain kidney function. Normosol R  has a pH of 6.6 or 7.4 and contains sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and magnesium chloride. Your veterinarian may prescribe at-home fluid injection if your pet has been diagnosed with a kidney disease or a condition that requires fluid hydration.
